Brighter Futures Therapy LLC has a play therapy room for clients who are a good fit for non-directive techniques. In child-centered play therapy, children are allowed to play with the toys and healing occurs in the way that the therapist interprets and responds to their play. The sessions are led by the child and the therapist trusts in their ability to play out their feelings. Child-centered play therapy is a good fit for children who may struggle to identify and talk about what is bothering them. This modality is best for children ages six to twelve though others who believe they can benefit should talk with their therapist.
A second therapy office is available for teens and children who desire traditional talk therapy or to work in a directive manner with the therapist. Therapist led interventions may include play, art, music or sand techniques. This approach is helpful for clients who want to work on a specific problem and need help as they work through their situation.
